Given the nature of peoples livelihood in this area business have not been thriving well. This has tended to present contradiction of the situation in that this is situated at Kericho and reaps and therefore reaps the benefit of the customers in the region. Management is another aspect that brings down many businesses this is because without effective and productive business management skills one will not be able to beat the competitors and therefore loose out 1.3 SCOPE OF THE STUDY This study endeavors to look into the factors that have led into the slow growth of business establishments in Kericho and given the constraints of finance and time the study will be limited to the Mutai Company.
